Job Description

We are looking for a master thesis student that can develop mobile body motion capture system using the latest Apple ARKit 3.0 technology integrated with Unity AR Foundation 3.0. Your responsibility is to design and program systems or tools that ensures that the recordings are as smooth as possible and are adaptable to the Frever Mobile 3D Editor.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop a user friendly front-end recording pipeline for body animations

  • Develop a cleaning/smoothing algorithm (local in client or server based) that ensures animations are presented without glitches or defects even if the raw data is not perfect

  • Write scripts that harmonize body animations pivot points so they fit into the Frever body animation standardization

  • Develop an animation trimmer to edit start and end points. Implement activation/deactivation of animation loop and root motion. Investigate solution to apply automatic smooth animation looping

  • Be able to implement pose overlays on recorded animations to fix overlaps and correct faulty offset

  • Write scripts that automatically publish animations to Frever PostgreSQL database on Amazon RDS and S3

  • Integrate solution in Frever Mobile 3D Editor

  • Research and use best practices around animation cleaning/smoothing algorithms to achieve best look


Who You Are

  • Fluent in English 

  • Experience with Apple ARKit and Unity

  • Knowledge of C#


Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of mathematical smoothing algorithms for noise coming in from recordings 

  • Up to date knowledge of current art techniques and development processes 

  • Great interest in 3D animation systems
